A healthy environment is essential to our well-being. It helps us be our best. And that’s why Kellogg promises to nurture the world we live in — just as it nurtures us.
Every day, Kellogg makes great strides toward sustainability. Our GoGreen Teams sponsor events and activities to make going green fun for everyone at Kellogg. Plus, our Chief Sustainability Officer and our Board of Directors’ Social Responsibility Committee ensure we stay serious about our commitment. They outline policies for our agricultural activities and set measureable goals for reducing our emissions, water and energy use, and waste.
Growing Sustainably
Kellogg plays an important role in agriculture around the world, and we proudly rise to the challenges that come with it. We’re on a mission to understand where our grains come from, including how they’re grown. We walk the fields. We work with local growers. We calculate the environmental impact of our ingredients. And we use all this information to inspire our growers and help them farm more sustainably.
Thinking Outside the Box
The very first box W.K. Kellogg topped off more than 100 years ago was made entirely of recycled material. Today, almost all our cereal boxes are made from 100 percent recycled paperboard — but we’re always brainstorming innovative ideas to cut down on our environmental impact.
Watching Our Water
At Kellogg, we carefully watch our water consumption. That’s because we want to make sure that we’re making a more positive impact on the environment with every drop we use.
Using Less Energy
Through efforts large and small, Kellogg is working hard to reduce its energy use and greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Whether we’re cutting down energy consumption inside our facilities or finding sustainable ways to transport our ingredients, Kellogg is committed to reducing our carbon footprint a little more each year.
